about us and our C.S.A programs

We are a small family owned farm. We sell Fruit, Veggitables, Eggs,Chickens,Rabbits,Goat Meat and Goat Milk.  We practice organic  means of farming, use only natural means  we use no pesticides, herbicides, funguicides or chemical fertlizers. Our animals are on a all natural diet with very little feed.we use no antibiotics or hormones. our eggs are gathered every couple of hours and are usally less than 3 days old before they are  in our customers homes, where as in going to a markket producers have over 30 days befor the have to ship them,we try to produce the freshest products possible.
Our C.S.A. program is offered for 3 seasons a year, spring summer and fall, we have many partnership options to help meet your needs. Some
packages have baked goods, eggs, goats milk and discounts on our meat
products
.As farmers, we pledge to farm in a sustainable manner, and to do
everything in our power to produce a high quality, large harvest. We’ve
already got crops in the ground, and we are planting more every day.
While we do sell some produce through other outlets, we commit to
provide produce to CSA members first and foremost. As members, you
pledge to support the farm with your financial and moral support,
understanding that farming is risky business, and there are inevitably
losses and wins in every season  our Shares are payable in 2 instalments one 4 weeks befor season starts and the other in firsr drop off date. we ask all of   our .partners to commit to 12 hours for the season. we know some are just too busy to commit to that the is a option of a $100 payment to help cover labor.
Community Supported Agriculture,or C.S.A. was first introduced to the United States in the 1980s. Adopted from European models,,C.S.A. Marketing is centered upon the purchase of shares of goods from the host farm in advance of the growing season. this method of operation is beneficial to both the farm and partners.  Costomers know that they are buying into a small, locally owned business and that they know they are receiving high-quality fresh foods, because there is no middle man prices will be reasonable and weekly pickups allow partners to know when the food is coming.
Partners buy into the potential bounty and also the potential risks of farming. for example, if we have a banner year for tomatoes, partners can expect to see more tomatoes in their C.S.A. boxes.if it is a poor year the partners will share in the loss and have fewer tomatoes.
Advantages for consumers: Eat ultra-fresh food, with all the flavor and vitamin benefits Get exposed to new vegetables and new ways of cooking Usually get to visit the farm at least once a seasonFind that kids typically favor food from "their" farm  even veggies they've never been known to eat, Develop a relationship with the farmer who grows their food and learn more about how food is grown
It's a simple enough idea, but its impact has been profound. Tens of thousands of families have joined CSAs, and in some areas of the country there is more demand than there are CSA farms to fill it. The government does not track CSAs, so there is no official count of how many CSAs there are in the U.S.. LocalHarvest has the most comprehensive directory of CSA farms, with over 4,000 listed in our grassroots database.
